Our Professional Journeys: Navigating Roles, Research, Relationships, and Responsibilities
Our conference seeks to build constructive collaborations between higher education and K-12 professional settings.

ATE-K and KACTE are thankful to everyone who participated in our recent conference! 126 educators registered attending 19 sessions. This online conference offered keynote sessions in the morning and breakout sessions in the afternoon with a wide variety of professionals, practitioners and researchers. Below are the themes of our 2023 conference.
Roles - Presentations in this strand explore the myriad roles in teacher education and development. From the recruiting and development of new teachers to the ongoing professional development and continuous improvement of practicing educators, this strand addresses the challenges and opportunities and the existing and future directions for educational roles.
Research - Presentations in this strand explore the research that examines and illuminates professional knowledge, perspectives, and practices in the educational enterprise. Examples might include research relevant to new models of learning, social justice, closing gaps, recruiting the next generation of educators, changing perspectives, collaborations, or effective remote learning.
Relationships - Presentations in this strand explore relationships among individuals, groups, and organizations that move the educational profession forward. Examples might include building positive relationships with and among students, collaborations and partnerships, best practices, building community, building relationships across modalities (face to face or remote), escaping silos, and envisioning the future of relationships.
Responsibilities - Presentations in this strand explore the responsibilities of professional educators in a variety of contexts. Examples might include advocacy within or across levels (local, state, national, international), support for social emotional well being, academic support for student success, fostering stability in times of unrest, establishing cultural respect and diversity, articulating the purposes of public education, building capacity and preparing a caring and sustainable teacher force.
